Mealie Go ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Vorisek Labs. This is a short policy, because Mealie Go is a simple app: we do not operate a server, we do not require an account with us, and we do not collect, receive, store, or see any of your recipe, meal plan, or shopping list data.
Mealie Go is a mobile client for Mealie, a free and open source, self-hosted recipe manager. When you use Mealie Go, you enter the address of a Mealie server — one you run yourself, or one run by someone you trust (a friend, a family member). The app connects directly from your phone to that server. There is no Vorisek Labs backend in between, and no copy of your data ever passes through our infrastructure.
Your recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, comments, ratings, photos, and login credentials are all created, stored, and controlled entirely by the Mealie server you choose to connect to. That server's own operator — which may be you — is responsible for that data, not us. If you have questions about how your Mealie server stores or handles data, that's a question for whoever administers it.
To make the app usable, a small amount of information is stored locally on your phone. None of it is transmitted to Vorisek Labs — it never leaves your device except to the Mealie server you've configured:
All of the above lives only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it.
Mealie Go contains no analytics software, no crash-reporting service, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers of any kind. We don't know how many people use the app, what they search for, or what recipes they save — because nothing reports that information to us.
The only outside service Mealie Go communicates with is the Mealie server address you provide — and that's not really "third-party" from our perspective, since we have no relationship with it and never see what's exchanged. We do not integrate any advertising network, analytics platform, or cloud service of our own.
Mealie Go is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children, in keeping with the fact that we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Because Vorisek Labs never receives, stores, or has access to your recipe data, login credentials, or usage activity, there is nothing on our end to access, correct, export, or delete. All of that data — and all control over it — belongs to you and lives on the Mealie server you use. To manage or delete your data, use your Mealie server's own tools, or contact whoever administers it.
If you'd like to verify any of the claims in this policy yourself, Mealie Go is open source — the full source code is public at github.com/Vorisek-Labs/mealie-go.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's functionality changes in a way that affects it. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
